Invincible X Adidas Samba: The Taipei retailer’s FW26 capsule transforms adidas’s terrace icon into formalwear and raw, exposed-seam statement sneaker, dropping globally November 13.
The INVINCIBLE x adidas Samba has spent decades as a soccer pitch refugee, worn on concrete by kids in tracksuits and by fashion people who’d already mastered minimalism. INVINCIBLE, the Taipei retailer known for architectural reinterpretation of classics, just handed it a two-part reconstruction. One version looks ready for a dinner reservation. The other reads like a sneaker with its seams turned inside out.
The Samba Dress Shoe is the move if you need something that works in a conference room or across a restaurant table. Brogue wingtip perforations run along the T-toe overlay and side panels, borrowing the language of formal footwear and pressing it onto canvas. Pinked, sawtooth edges trace the same zones, adding a craft-adjacent texture that signals intention. The back heel counter is gone, replaced by ruched leather that bunches and flexes as you walk, creating texture where there usually sits structure. It’s a sports shoe that’s read the memo about tailoring.
The second Samba keeps the familiar silhouette intact but abandons the construction rulebook. Panels are cut and twisted so they overlap intentionally, then the raw seams stay visible instead of stitched inward and hidden. Reinforcement stitching borrowed from bespoke leatherwork fills the gaps between deconstructed panels. Metallic gold foil INVINCIBLE branding sits on the lateral side, quiet enough to escape notice at first glance. According to Hypebeast, this deconstructed version is the one available globally, while the Dress Shoe version stays exclusive to Asia.
INVINCIBLE x adidas Samba Dress Shoe: Formal Footwear Meets Canvas
INVINCIBLE and adidas Consortium released the first shared apparel range between the two partners alongside the shoes. Four pieces all carry one playful detail: a woven adidas label that tears away to reveal an embroidered INVINCIBLE logo underneath, a moment of reveal built into the garment itself.
The G-8 Flight Jacket arrives in a boxy, cropped cut with 3D utility pockets and a box pleat down the back that opens in motion to show the Three Stripes hidden inside the fold. The L/S Knit Jersey transforms the football shirt into premium knit construction. The 1 Tuck Track Pants mix front pleats with long-pile wool, a tailoring move borrowed from dress wear. The 1 Tuck Track Sweat Pants apply the same pleated front to heavyweight cotton, bringing dress-code thinking to casualwear.
Release Timeline and Access
A global online raffle ran through invincible.com.tw until November 4 at 12 PM (GMT+8). The Asia launch follows November 7 at INVINCIBLE locations in Taipei, Xinyi, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Chengdu and Jakarta, plus the INVINCIBLE online store. The global release lands November 13 at selected adidas Originals stores and in the adidas app.
Colorway names, style codes and prices remain listed as to be confirmed. Fit and sizing information hasn’t been shared, so treat standard Samba sizing as your starting point and check the adidas listing at launch time. The Dress Shoe version, exclusive to Asia, represents the more functionally ambitious play: a sneaker that genuinely crosses over into formal dressing. The deconstructed Samba suits people already familiar with the silhouette who want construction details and exposed seams rather than a graphic-heavy collaboration piece. Both trade the clean, minimal Samba OG for deliberate, visible construction work.
