A classic Reebok silhouette is transformed through traditional Japanese craft.
Sashiko Meets a 90s Icon
Engineered Garments has once again teamed up with Reebok, this time alongside sashiko artist Jun Sugimae and his studio JunAle, to rework the Instapump Fury 94. The collaboration applies traditional Japanese sashiko embroidery by hand, introducing a tactile, craft-focused layer to the sneaker’s famously futuristic 1994 design.
Two Colorways Rooted in Texture
Arriving in Black and Brown, each pair features rugged textile overlays, tonal hand stitching, and subtle asymmetry that aligns with Engineered Garments’ utilitarian aesthetic. These artisanal elements contrast against the Instapump Fury’s split midsole and carbon fiber plate, preserving the performance DNA of the original while elevating it through material depth and detail.
Craft at the Core
Co-branded footbeds and restrained heel branding finish the design, keeping the focus on the handmade nature of the project. Available now through Nepenthes New York, the Engineered Garments x JunAle Instapump Fury 94 stands as a rare fusion of sneaker history and traditional craftsmanship.
