A Continued Collaboration
Amsterdam-based designer Daniëlle Cathari and Kith Women have once again joined forces with New Balance, teasing the release of the 991v2 “Reverse Matcha.” Following the success of their 2024 “Matcha” collaboration, the trio returns with a design that balances Cathari’s minimalist aesthetic and New Balance’s heritage craftsmanship.
Inverting the Icon
The “Reverse Matcha” reimagines the familiar color story of the first edition, flipping the palette to feature brown suede overlays and matcha green mesh underlays. The subtle inversion gives the sneaker a sophisticated yet playful edge, while maintaining the model’s signature premium materials and dual-tone midsole in white and cream. The result is a refined silhouette that celebrates both contrast and continuity.
Release Details
While an official launch date has yet to be announced, the Daniëlle Cathari x New Balance 991v2 “Reverse Matcha” is expected to release exclusively through Kith Women in limited quantities, echoing the scarcity and desirability of the previous “Matcha” drop.
