A global celebration of independent broadcasting arrives in print, apparel, and sound.
Honoring a Global Radio Community
Carhartt WIP is commemorating more than 15 years of its influential radio platform with the launch of Audio Archives, a multifaceted project spotlighting 17 independent radio stations from around the world. Since its inception in 2008, Carhartt WIP Radio has served as a hub for underground music and community storytelling, and this latest initiative reflects on its cultural impact while looking toward its future.
A 1,200 Page Publication and Sound Compilation
At the heart of the release is a monumental 1,200 page book compiling poster artwork and archival features from across the platform’s history. The publication serves as both visual record and cultural document, capturing the evolution of independent broadcasting. Included alongside the book is a 7 inch Flexi disk featuring soundbites, voiceovers, and station introductions from participating radio communities worldwide.
Apparel Capsule and Limited Edition Hardware
Complementing the print release is a dedicated apparel capsule featuring two graphic long sleeve shirts, a hooded sweatshirt, and a practical record bag. The project also includes a limited edition Teenage Engineering OB 4 Magic Radio, combining premium audio technology with Carhartt WIP’s utilitarian design language. The physical collection launches on February 26, followed by a global series of live broadcasts and events beginning at Berlin’s NBB Gallery before traveling internationally.
