British heritage and Eastern mythology come together in a Lunar New Year release rooted in symbolism and personal history.
A Cross Cultural Collaboration
Barbour has partnered with London based Chinese designer Feng Chen Wang to mark the Year of the Horse with a special collaborative capsule. The collection reinterprets the British brand’s classic outerwear through Wang’s emotionally driven design language, blending countryside tradition with mythological storytelling drawn from Chinese folklore.
Heritage Jackets With Mythic Detail
At the center of the capsule are updated versions of the Porter Waxed Jacket and the Fendale Quilted Jacket, the latter offered in Rustic and Olive colorways. Both silhouettes are adorned with detailed Dragon Horse embroidery, referencing the Long Ma, a legendary creature associated with bravery, freedom, and strength. Red and gold accents appear throughout the collection, reinforcing themes of good fortune and renewal tied to the Lunar New Year.
A Personal Narrative
The collaboration extends beyond outerwear to include gingham check shirts, graphic T shirts, and sports caps, creating a cohesive wardrobe rooted in symbolism. For Feng Chen Wang, the project reflects her own journey, shaped by her years studying in London where Barbour jackets became emblematic of her experience abroad. The capsule is available now through Barbour, offering a thoughtful fusion of cultural heritage and contemporary design.
