Ama x Salomon XT-Whisper Void Channels the Spirit of Japanese Pearl Divers

Ama x Salomon

Inspired by the strength and tradition of Japan’s Ama women, this collaboration brings fresh meaning and style to Salomon’s XT-Whisper silhouette.

A Collaboration Inspired by the Sea

Salomon continues to push the XT-Whisper into new creative territory with its latest collaboration, this time partnering with British singer-songwriter Ama and her creative agency, I Came Home Late Studios. The result is the Ama x Salomon XT-Whisper Void — a design that blends functionality with storytelling rooted in the sea and the enduring legacy of Japan’s Ama divers.

Design Details and Symbolism

Arriving in a Vanilla Ice / Fusion Coral / Emberglow colorway, every hue on the XT-Whisper Void carries symbolic weight. The crisp white speaks to the “treasure sought in silence,” coral orange represents “a flash of life — vivid, raw, and the same shade that warms the gloves of the divers,” while seaweed green pays homage to the ocean’s undercurrent greenery.

Performance remains a core focus, with the pair featuring Salomon’s Sensifit™ and Quicklace system for precision fit, as well as the Agile Chassis system for enhanced stability, support, and grip.

Ama’s Take on the Collaboration

Ama shared her appreciation for Salomon’s design ethos: “Number one (reason to wear Salomon) is functionality — at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you’re a fashion girl, there’s nothing more annoying than having shoes that don’t feel good.” She also praised the brand’s understated appeal, noting that Salomon sneakers seamlessly transition from outdoor hikes to city outings while maintaining a chic, versatile style.

Availability

The Ama x Salomon XT-Whisper Void is available now for $170 USD through Salomon and select retailers.
